Equipped with a passion for problem-solving and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology, my journey into the world of data science began at GroupM Data and Analytics R&D. There; I laid the groundwork for my career by developing a novel optimization algorithm and pioneering projects to estimate the long-term return on media investments.
Moving on to Remedy Partners as a Senior Data Scientist, I delved into the intricacies of patient risk prediction. This exciting work culminated in a peer-reviewed paper and the opportunity to mentor junior data scientists. The leadership experience gained here was crucial as I transitioned into the role of Data Science Manager at Tremor International. Here, I led a high-performing team, created an optimization engine that boosted profits, and delivered strategic insights to C-level executives, all while driving innovations in machine learning.
The adventure didn’t stop there. Joining Amazon as an Applied Scientist, I successfully innovated a multilingual NLP model, significantly enhancing the quality of sponsored ads searches. Throughout my journey, my dual degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering has kept me grounded, reminding me of my roots in the complex, fascinating world of data science. This journey has been about more than algorithms and models; it’s been about people, leadership, and making a real impact.
